The Fast Track Program permits undergraduate students from the School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication to begin work on the ATEC MA with Emerging Media Studies degree before graduation. None of the other graduate degrees permit Fast Track admissions at this time.
As a Fast Track student, a qualified undergraduate senior may take up to 12 credit hours maximum of approved graduate courses in Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication during their senior year, which will apply to their undergraduate degree plan as either prescribed- or free-elective courses. To qualify for admission to the Fast Track program, a senior must have completed the lower-division major requirements and at least 12 hours of their upper-division major requirement courses, with a GPA of at least 3.5 overall.
Registration for graduate courses will be made in consultation with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in the School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication. Upon transition to the MA program, the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies will waive the appropriate number of graduate credit hours.
Students interested in the Fast Track program should consult with their Academic Advisor and complete an application.
