In-person Computer Lab Access
Many computer labs across campus have closed operation in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Below are a few computer labs that we have verified their status for the Fall 2021 semester. Please visit their respective web pages for the most up-to-date information regarding the status of their environments. Failure to abide by these procedures is a breach of the UTD Student Code of Conduct and will be reported to the Dean of Students.
ATEC Open Computer Lab (ATC 2.302)
The Open Lab is currently available for students to visit in person from 8:00am – 10:00pm Monday – Friday and 12:00pm – 10:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Founders Computer Lab (FO 1.206)
The Founders computer lab is accessible by all currently enrolled UTD students by appointment only. Please visit the Computer Labs web page within OIT for more information regarding the hours of operation and how to schedule an appointment.
JSOM Express Printing Lab (JSOM 12.101)
The JSOM computer lab is accessible by all currently enrolled UTD students and is monitored through security cameras. On-site technical assistance is available Monday-Friday until 8:00 PM. Please visit the JSOM Tech Support page for contact information and further information.
What We Do
We assist ATEC Faculty, Staff, and students with a wide variety of issues including, but not limited to:
- Software & hardware issues, installations, and requests
- Laptop Cart reservations (Staff and Faculty ONLY)
- Peripheral installations
- Office setups (Staff and Faculty ONLY)
- AV for communication conferencing, and events
- Equipment checkout
- Computer lab software & hardware maintenance
To submit a help request ticket, e-mail email@example.com for assistance. When sending a request, be sure to include:
- Office or room number.
- A detailed description of the request or issue.
- Available dates and times for the Lab Techs to perform the request.
- The asset number (computer name) for the device in question, if applicable.
If a request is to be performed while out of office, please be sure to log out of all devices as applicable.
Please be aware, however, that some fixes may require the presence of the requester.
In addition to sending a help request to firstname.lastname@example.org, you have the option of walking up to our Support Center (ATC 2.302) for assistance and inquires at your convenience during our open operational hours.
If software or hardware technical difficulties are encountered with a teaching station, projector, and/or classroom audio equipment please contact Media Services by pressing the red "Help" button on the teaching station console.
If the button is pressed between the hours of 8:00AM-5:00PM a Media Services staff member will come and assist as soon as they are able. If issues are encountered after hours, please call the Lab Techs at (972) 883-7515 for assistance.
