Mission Statement

The Edith O’Donnell Arts and Technology Building Aesthetics Committee was created to maintain building standards, curate building artwork, and facilitate exhibition and showcase spaces. It is our mission to generate positive dialogue between gallery-viewers, encourage innovative thoughts, and assist in advancing artistic development of the artists shown.

The Building Aesthetics Committee is built on the belief that keeping the integrity of the building is of utmost importance. Showcasing student, alumni, faculty, and staff art and design work plays a key role in connecting our creative community to the building we inhabit.

Building Standards

No artwork, posters, materials, etc. are to be adhered to the outside of classrooms, labs, conference rooms, or offices. No blank walls within open labs or classrooms may be utilized without approval from the Building Aesthetics Committee. Furthermore, no objects shall be adhered to any other walls, columns, or glass within the Edith O’Donnell Arts and Technology Building without approval from the Building Aesthetics Committee.

No lab, faculty organization, or student club/organization maintains exclusive rights to any showcase or wall space within the Edith O’Donnell Arts and Technology Building. ATEC Pathways retain full ownership of their showcase space boards. The boards themselves may be relocated depending on the needs of the building.

Promotional or marketing materials, advertisements, etc. created by student clubs/organizations are to be contained to the Posting Post (black column in the ATEC Lobby). Exceptions will be made for those who get prior approval from the Building Aesthetics Committee.

The Building Aesthetics Committee must comply with all University standards set in place to maintain the architectural integrity of the Edith O’Donnell Arts and Technology Building. Therefore, we cannot exclusively limit showcase or wall space to certain individuals; exhibition and showcase designations will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Main entrance halls/corridors/lobbies on the first floor must adhere to a separate set of standards when applying and displaying work. No objects are to be affixed or adhered within or outside of the following rooms (includes windows, walls, and doors): ATC 1.101, ATC 1.201, ATC 1.305, ATC 1.406, ATC 1.601, ATC 1.605, ATC 1.701, ATC 1.705, ATC 1.709, ATC 1.901, ATC 1.902, ATC 1.917, ATC 2.101.
